Lechwe are some of the game that may be viewed.
Birding in the area is incredible, and species

who roam the open plains. Herds of Buffalo and
Elephant occur here, along with the predators
- Lion, Leopard, Wild Dog and Cheetah. Guests
who enjoy their birding will love the combination
of all the Okavango water "specials"
with acacia and dry woodland species. Birding

Lark, Meyers Parrot, and Pels fishing owl.
Facilities
Five meru-style en suite tents are raised up on
decks, and have wonderful views over the surrounding
islands and floodplains. The bathrooms are enclosed,
but roofless. The thatched dining and pub area
is connected to the opposite island by a walkway
bridge, and is raised on a teak deck overlooking
the channel. Lantern-lit dinners are served under
the tree canopy.
Additional Information
Kaparota offers game drives, guided walks (at
the final discretion of the camp manager), and
mekoro rides. Game drives are conducted in open
4x4 Land Rovers with experienced guides. Night
drives are possible nearly all year, but may be
restricted for a few months in the middle of each
year if we have extremely high flood levels. The
variety of wildlife here is stunning. Guests can
go out by boat in the morning and see Hippos,
Crocodiles, Red Lechwe and all the aquatic wildlife
- and then travel out by Land Rover in the afternoon
to see Elephant, Sable and all the dry savannah
game. Mokoro excursions on shallow floodplains,
and boating in the deeper channels and lagoons
are available year round. Fishing is also offered.
