Maximum
baggage allowance within Botswana is 12 kilograms per
person (excluding photographic equipment). Please pack
all luggage in a soft bag. Hard sided and / or overweight
luggage cannot be accepted on the charter aircraft within
Botswana.
The
Cessna 206 is ideally suited to use in this region.
This is primarily because of its ability to negotiate
the bush airstrips and also the benefit off an under
belly cargo pod.
The Cessna 206 and 210 can seat 5 people
and the pilot.
The Cessna 208 can seat 12 people and
the pilot.
The
Cessna 208 is what is commonly called a "turbo
prop", this is because the plane is powered by
a turbine engine.
There
are numerous air charter companies that operate out
of Maun. During the peak season Maun airport can record
up to 300 air movements a day.
Scenic
flights over the Okavango Delta can be arranged as an
extra in either a fixed wing Cessna or Bell Jet Ranger
helicopter.
The
helicopter is ideal especially for enthusiastic photographers.
The doors can be taken off in order to accommodate even
the biggest camera lenses.
