SAFARI TOURS »
A
trip to Botswana can either be planned as a unique tour
which is tailored to your specific requirements in terms
of budget, lodges and destinations, or the traveler
can select from a variety of ready-to-go tours, ranging
from participatory camping safaris which traverse the
wildlife reserves overland in 4 x 4 vehicles, to luxury
fly-in safaris to premier lodges and camps. These air
hops are done between all the Okavango, Moremi and Chobe
camps, in single or twin engined light aircraft.
The budgets for these tours vary between a high season
rate of $1912.00 for a 10 night participatory camping
safari, to a high season rate of $8250.00 for a 5 night
Elephant Back Safari. Peak season in Botswana is late
fall to early spring - between the months of May to
October. These rates are per person sharing. The single
rates for these same tours are $2256.00 and $11550.00
respectively.
During
the off-peak season, known as the "Green Season",
which follows the summer rains, the traveler can obtain
some exceptional special deals for travel to Botswana.
During this time, some outfitters and operators drop
single supplement rates.
For youngsters and budget travelers, there are companies
which specialize in overland expeditions in large overland
vehicles, camping mostly in government administered
camp grounds on the fringes of the Delta. Travelers
usually contribute to a food kitty and everyone helps
with the daily chores.
Although fun and exhilirating for these travelers, the
ultimate way to see Botswana is to get away from the
main areas, deep into the heartlands of Moremi, Chobe,
Linyanti and the Okavango, by either getting a consultant
to tailor a tour to your needs, or by selecting a safari
which mets your criteria in terms of budget and expectations.
These
tours are generally fully inclusive of all meals, drinks
and activities. When searching for a tour, our site
displays very clearly what is included and excluded
in the cost, so the traveler is not faced with any unpleasant
surprises on arrival.
